Friday Night, The Witching Hour Art Show!

A group exhibit of art from cartoonists all over the world around the theme of “the witching hour.” The exhibit will be open from 7 – 10pm with tarot readings, art installations and a purifying ritual involving the summoning of Bob Ross. Tarot readings by Sally Cantirino, Roxanne Palmer and Maxine Worthy for $3 with (proceeds going to SAW).

Tuesdays: Drawing on Location with Jess Ruliffson Gainesville becomes our classroom in this observational-focused drawing class. Students will choose to pursue study of figure and perspective in either gestural or formal techniques. Emphasis is placed on connecting with visual perceptions and recognizing drawing habits. Teacher will give demonstrations in various mediums including pastel, ink wash, brush pen, and graphite pencil. Work will be critiqued at the close of each session….

Our New Instructor, Jess Ruliffson

We’re so so happy to have Jess Ruliffson here from New York to start teaching at SAW. She’s been teaching an amazing intro to comics class in summer 2016 and will be teaching gouache painting and non-fiction comics in the 2016-2017 school year.
