Looking for that big picture

Another week, another great collection of comics conversations on SAWs online network. Still not apart of the Might Network? Don’t worry, you can join anytime, here.

TUESDAY COMICS INSPIRATION

If you’re looking for something to challenge your ideas of feminism, Donna recommends ‘Amplify: Graphic Narratives of Feminist Resistance’. She says, “Super inspiring and educational, especially for feminists who think they are already plugged in (like me! Haha!) I learned a lot and was wowed.”

Check it out over at Goodreads.

IN FLOW

The flow group has been busy developing sci-fi comics ready for an anthology. Here’s some encouraging inspiration from the sci-fi master Moebius.

FROM THE MEMOIR GROUP

This week the memoir group was discussing creative burnout. How do you balance the two sides of the brain? What do you do to get your creative ideas into a logical sequence? How do you start the big projects?

For Tom, it’s breaking it down: “it’s so hard for me to focus on long-term projects, EXCEPT when I proceed in small bits, looking for that big picture.”

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

It wasn’t just any other week at SAW. We welcomed Underpants and Overbites for an online hangout to chat with Tom Hart about everything comics and answer any burning questions about creative life.

You can see the full video here (Jackie appears about 20 minutes in)!
