A review of Eleanor Davis’ Why Art?

Why Art starts out as a handbook about different ways one makes art and how our audience can shape our art. The comic quickly turns into a more fantastical adventure when apocalyptic circumstances cause the artists of the book to escape into a small world diorama. There we watch as the people make smaller versions of themselves and observe omnisciently the lives of their little replicas. Charming, dark, full of hope, and with brilliant drawings of shark women, wolves saying fuck and much more, Why Art is definitely worth the read.
