Three FREE graphic medicine workshops

Comics about physical and mental health.

Hi all!

We’re digging around in the vast SAW Friday Night Comics archives (three years now, over 150 workshops) and are noticing some trends. Lots of music, lots of places, lots of monsters and animals, and lots of graphic medicine.

We’re talking with the good folks at GraphicMedicine.org about some joint projects and events, and in preparation, found a dozen wonderful workshops.

Here are just three for now. Stay tuned for more.

1. Draw Your Sleep with Maureen Burdock

Maureen Burdock walked us through a conversation with our sleep, asking What Does Our Sleep Need? We created a relationship with it, rather than fighting for it. It was marvelous.

A woman holding up a paper with two comic panels about sleep.

Oneita sharing panels from her sleep comic made during the workshop!

Thanks Maureen!

2. Nicole Georges’ Interspecies Grief Comics Workshop

Nicole had us making incredibly tender comics in this heart opening workshop.

A comic panel of two people hugging, saying "I love you & I'm so proud of you. I love you too."

Thank you Nicole! Buy her new giant book of diary comics!

3. Drawing Through the Storm with E. Joy Mehr

We loved this workshop with E. Joy, where we confronted and played with the things worrying us. It eased us all so much!
