What’s Involved

In this 4 week course, you’ll engage with

• Week 1: Sequences that are dramatic

  • And the difference between story and “vibe”

• Week 2: The horizon line and camera

  • When we move the camera, we make it more dramatic. What is the best placement for our story?

• Week 3: Shapes, color and composition

  • Looking at how dramatic shapes, values and hues and compositions can be dramatic in themselves.

• Week 4: Inking and expressive techniques

  • We’ll tie it all together as we finalize a comic using all the techniques plus expressive rendering.

• Sidney will provide insightful lectures, demonstrations and in-class exercises to get you moving to that next dramatic level!
