 FAQs

  • Yes and no. This course overlaps with Toms Graphic Memoir mini-course as well as Comics for Writers and Comics FLOW.

There is some cross over with the 12-week intensives but the focus of this group isn’t too work through course materials but to develop your own practice and creative project with support from a dedicated, like-minded community.

  • The Graphic Memoir + Graphic Medicine working group is built on peer-to-peer support facilitated by professional cartoonists. In the past that has included Tom Hart and Beth Trembley. You can find their wisdom embedded in the course materials and throughout the community forum. In 2024 the mentors are Maureen Burdock and Vanessa Davis, who will lead bi-monthly calls and regularly connect with members in the Mighty Network.

  • You have access to the materials AND the MIGHTY NETWORK Community by continuing to be a subscriber.

The price will always be sliding scale to ensure access to as many people as possible. And  you can change what you pay any month.

You will be removed from the private community when you're not subscribed; but you can rejoin and still have all your old posts available.

  • At SAW we’re deeply committed to making comics accessible to all. Sliding scale pricing means you pay what you can afford. You have the same access as everyone else. Thanks for paying what you can afford!

  • It works great! I find this is a lot like a dojo; the experienced students get to deepen their understanding by guiding and assisting others, and those in beginning stages learn from a lot of collective wisdom!
