This week at SAW
Another great week in our new space with our new cohort.
This week, in my class we worked on inks of our first big project
Then we looked at some silent comics and the questions they raised and answered for the readers. We looked at one not so silent and incredibly scatological comic, about a man peeing for so long his reflection in his own pee begins to yell at him. Ah yes, the seriousness of our medium.
But seriously, on Wednesday, Justine brought in 5 pages of inks and gave an incredible talk about grace and precision in narrative anatomy. Here she is discussing pop sculpture as well as Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore to demonstrate her themes..
And then it was off to the springs!
Master artist Margaret Tolbert taught us how to draw underwater and took us to Florida’s beautiful Glen Springs and Salt Springs.
