COPYING THE MASTERS (INKING AND VISION WITH JUSTINE ANDERSEN)
Our online Year-Long Intensive Program students have been taking a course taught by Justine Andersen and recently students were instructed to “Copy the Masters.” This is a way to study line work from Masters in the comic world so that a student may learn how to emulate those rhythms in their own work.

MORE INKING FUN
Students also recently tried their hands at another type of exercise from the Year-Long Intensive Program's Inking and Vision course where they experimented with inking by using toothpicks and/or skewers. Here’s a great example of some loose inks by student, Bex Painter!

STORYTELLING FLOW
Our Storytelling Flow Online-Course launched on January 20th, 2021 and students are already getting into a FLOW with their comics.
Recently, students were instructed to GATHER IDEAS using exercises created by Tom Hart.

DRAW JAMS!
Throughout the week we have free, community-run virtual Draw Jams via Zoom run by Barry Sawicki! You can find the links embedded in SAW's Mighty Network, with regular updates about times and themes.

PHOTO COMICS IN THE YEAR-LONG PROGRAM
Our online Year-Long Intensive Program students are going strong in their 3rd Session of the YLP.
Last week, students attempted Photo Comics!
Photo Comics, to put it simply, are the combination of photos and words (some are silent) to make COMICS!
