Field Trip to The Lynx Books + Draw Jam
SAW Field trips are a great way to get to know people and get out of the studio for a bit, especially if you’ve been working on any kind of longer project. On December 7, we are spending the afternoon at The Lynx Books to have coffee, sketch outside, and check out their selection.
Figure Drawing for Comics with Mort Robertson
Join local cartoonist, Mort Robertson, for a guided session on clothed figure drawing for comics, focusing on composition, figure placement, value judgments, and more.
SAW Field Trip @ The Repurpose Project
We're having a SAW Field Trip to the Repurpose Project! This is an informal meeting for SAW folks to get together and upcycle materials to design a one-of-a-kind gift or activity for a loved one this holiday season.

PANEL PALOOZA - A COMICS AND ZINE FEST IN GAINESVILLE, FL, MARCH 8 2025. The aim of this comics and zine festival is to bring folks together from all over Florida and beyond to enjoy SAW's incredible location, library, and community.

As we say goodbye to Emma, we welcome Carly. Emma left huge shoes to fill, and Carly will do her best as the new SAW Assistant Director.
COMICS WORKING GROUP @ SAW OCTOBER 1 - NOVEMBER 12, 2024
The SAW Accountability group is a one-a-week meeting place for Gainesville locals to bring whatever long term, short term, or anywhere-in-between project. When Tuesday evenings starting October 1 from 7PM to 9PM continuing on until November 12.
Comics for TEENS!
This class is for teens aged 11-18 that are interested in starting, continuing and/or maintaining their practice in comics. When Saturday mornings starting October 5 from 10AM to 12PM (continuing for 7 weeks until November 16, 2024)

SAW’s WEEKLONG WORKSHOP IN GAINESVILLE OCTOBER 21 - 25
In this weeklong workshop, participants will learn how to make a comic from beginning to end. This course includes in-depth overviews of plot, character, setting, lettering, panel design, inking, and digital editing.
