PRE-ORDER Piss Off, Python! DeSantis Cuts All Art Funding in Florida
Last year, Florida Governor, Ron Desantis, eliminated the entire state arts budget—over $32,000,000 in grants funding. The veto affected more than 600 organizations!
How does this affect SAW?
We expected to receive $25,000 for our operating budget and in-person and online programming. We're working hard to make ends meet without cutting any more programming, but we could really use your help.
For the next two weeks, SAW is launching a fundraiser in light of 2024 grant funding being vetoed by the Florida legislation.
What we’re asking:
We are selling this zine on a sliding scale of $10-$50, with a suggested donation of $15 to cover the price of printing. *Please be aware that the amount you choose to donate will be in addition to the cost of shipping, which is estimated at checkout. We will be also be including a small, mystery item in each order.
We at SAW know that now, more than ever, times are tough. Telling stories, fostering community, and sharing art is just one way to resist, love, and make it through. You can order a physical copy of this zine to be mailed to you or buy the PDF, which will trigger a direct email with the download link (different pricing offered). You can even come to our upcoming zine festival, PANEL PALOOZA, and nab a copy there, where it debuts.
8” x 8", full color, saddle-stitched, paper back. First printed in February 2025.
Written by Meg Lentz and illustrated by Carly Shooster.
If you're feeling especially giving, please use the form attached below to add a separate donation to SAW or consider taking an upcoming workshop or program!
Please Note: This is a PRE-ORDER and SAW has a small fulfillment team so it may take 2-3 weeks before you receive your shipping information. For any questions regarding your order, please contact us.
